Manifest Maker is free and open source software developed by the National Archives of Australia. Manifest Maker supports the transfer of data objects from agencies to the National Archives by producing a manifest file which satisfies the requirements for a digital transfer.

Manifest Maker is a component of the Digital Preservation Software Platform (DPSP).

Features

Manifest Maker produces a tab-separated file that comprises:

  • media identifier
  • path and filename of each data object in the transfer
  • checksum of each data object
  • checksum algorithm used
  • item number to which the data object belongs.

Manifest Maker also supports the production of a basic item list. The item list is a tab-separated file which lists all items in the transfer job.

Manifest Maker is released under the GPLv3. The source code is available on SourceForge.
